Think globally and celebrate locally! Bird migration is perhaps one of the best illustrations of the connection between our backyards and the world. Join ENC and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife service in celebrating Evergreen Lake as a beautiful respite or destination for travelers… and birds too.
International Migratory Bird Day will celebrate its 20th anniversary. Created in 1993, the event is now hosted at over 500 sites throughout the Western Hemisphere, reaching hundreds of thousands of youth and adults. As part of the 20th anniversary celebrations, the annual bird conservation theme will focus on 20 ways people may help preserve birds every day. The theme is highlighted in the 2012 art created by Rafael Lopez. The lively piece below reflects the joy, curiosity, and beauty of birds, while sharing the importance of community in bird conservation. ~ by EFTA (Environment For The Americas)
Evergreen Nature Center will celebrate IMBD with a day of games, crafts, puppets and learning for all ages!
