Colorado Birder

I've had my hummingbird feeder out since spring, and the level of nectar in it drops, so I figured someone had to be using it, but while it's at a very good angle for the birds, it's not at a good angle to just catch a casual glimpse as I'm going about my business.

Today I was reading in a chair that has a good view to the finch feeder when I noticed someone small and distinctly not a finch hover for a minute, then take off. I took off too - down to the window where I can look at the hummer feeder from the right angle and there it was - a beautiful black-chinned hummingbird!

I'm so excited!! It left too fast for me to grab the camera, but maybe it and some friends will be back!
