Colorado Birder

I'm looking for a good scope. My desire right now is an Alpen 20x60x80 angled but $400 is a bit steep considering I may lose my job. However, would consider anything! Thx.

I'd stick with Alpen. I'm trying to save up for the 20-60x60, found some online for at least $168. Don't know if that's too expensive or not, but my choice for a good scope.

Thanks a lot. I'd been thinking of the 60 too.

I have had two Eagle Optics Raven scopes $299 that worked fine for me.  I think they are discontinued but there are others in your price range here: http://www.eagleoptics.com/spotting-scopes?body_style=angled&so...

Also, here is a review from Cornell of scopes (2008) http://coloradobirder.ning.com/forum/topics/scope-quest-2008 There is a 2010 version I believe at birds.cornell.edu if you can find it.
