Colorado Birder

Hello!!
Does anyone know when Turkey vultures leave Colorado for the winter? Are they present in Colorado Springs thru September?
Thank you!

I'm not sure when they leave, but I know that they migrate back during the beginning of April. We've seen dozens of them flying through Wheat Ridge each year.

This year I found some resting in a neighbors tree. It was really cool to see them early in the morning, waiting to warm up with the sun.

They leave usually Fall--some could still be around in September. Gary

Hi Gary, hope you are well! Thanks for the reply. Do you know who else I might be able to contact about this?

Yes, I do. Haven't seen him for a little while but I talked with Susan Craig about banding with them again this spring. I will check with him. Thanks!
