Peregrine Falcon

I was very surprised to see this bird along CR96 in Weld County, about a mile West of CO77. It was a little before 6 AM, and he must have roosted along the fenceline. After this takoff, he hunted a few lark buntings and horned larks along the fenceline, then flew out over the fields.

Now that's a nice catch!  How big are these guys...it looks huge compared to the fence posts here.  As large as a redtail?
