A Chukar

On my morning walk with my pups, I noticed a flash of red out of corner of my eye among the leaves along a chain link fence. Thinking it was a piece of trash I allowed my eyes to skim right by before my brain became cognizant of the striking bars of black against the white background of soft feathers. I slowed my pace but kept walking to keep my dogs from getting curious.

Asphalt


Last week I was infatuated with my local critters. Asphalt, now an adult, was a baby bunny I found spinning in circles on my neighbor's driveway last summer in the full 100 degree sun. I easily scooped her up. She had no signs of injuries, but was definitely in shock.
