Every summer I see flocks of Barn Swallows flying around in intersections with traffic lights. I figured they had to be catching some type of insects. Next year I will watch and try to see if there are lots of Miller Moths attracted to the lights....

Thanks for sharing this Red Headed Woodpecker. As a child, long ago, I saw them along the Arkansas River at Rocky Ford and adored them. I haven't seen one for years. Where was this photo taken?

I have Red Headed Woodpeckers on my feeders at Lake McConaughy, Nebraska all summer long. The young have gray heads.

Thank-you for the note. Early in sproing the Orchard Oriole also come to the feeder, but stop as soon as the yuccas bloom. This year I had a Bullock's, but all summer the Northern/Baltimore Orioles come to the feeder. They were here just two weekends ago, but I didn't see any this past weekend.
