I suspect it is leucistic. The normal Steller's Jay does have white "eyebrows" and white "beak horns" as well as slight white bars beneath the eyes. Perhaps this fellow took these markings to an extreme. I've only seen him once since taking these ...
So...I'm guessing it's either very, very old (kidding) or it's leucistic, huh? Nice shot!
Wierd! Never seen one of these before - it is a recessive trait? Very cool find and photo!
