Colorado does have an impressive list of birds, (although not as many as California) and there are many places to bird, especially in Boulder. When the spring comes, there will be a plethora of birds. Right now a good place to go is the Platte River. It doesn't freeze and usually has hundred of ducks, several hawks and falcons, sparrows of a few different types and occasionally an eagle or coyote. The Fawn Brook Inn in Allenspark has some wonderful birds in the winter, too.
